The questions people ask most often are below. If yours is not here, send me an email and I will reply.

How do I add a widget?

Click Edit in the top right, then open the Widgets Hub. Drag a widget card onto the page, or click Add on the card.

The widgets available are clock, search, weather, calendar, to-do, notepad, battery and RSS reader. The size each one takes up is shown next to its name, for example 2x2.

How do I add and organise shortcuts?

Create one in Edit mode by filling in a name and a URL. The icon is fetched for you, and if you do not like the result you can paste your own image link into Icon URL.

Hold an icon to drag it somewhere else, or drop it onto another to make a folder. When a page fills up the next one takes over, and the dots at the bottom of the screen are the pages.

How do I change the wallpaper and the light or dark mode?

Open Settings and go to Appearance. Theme Mode offers Auto, Light and Dark, and Auto follows your system.

The same page has Wallpaper Presets and Gradient Presets to pick from, and you can point it at your own image URL instead.

How do I change the search engine?

Settings → General → Search Engine, where you can pick Google AI Mode, Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Brave or Kagi. The search box on the new tab uses whichever one you choose.

Do my settings follow me to another computer?

Yes. Turn on Sync Data Across Devices under Settings → General → Data Sync and your shortcuts and configuration come along. Wallpaper is excluded.

If you would rather not switch sync on, Settings → Data & Backup is where you handle backups yourself.

The weather widget just says Loading. What now?

The weather widget needs a location before it can show anything. Check the location settings under Settings → Weather, then reload the new tab.

If it still will not load, send me a screenshot of what you see and I will work out where it is getting stuck.

My habit reminder never appears

Reminders are off by default. Open the gear on the widget, go to its Settings tab, change Reminder Interval from Off to an interval, then switch on System Notification or Web Bubble Injection and press Save.

If you chose the system notification, your browser and operating system also need to allow notifications, otherwise nothing shows up.

Where do my notes and calendar events live?

In the browser's own storage, alongside your shortcuts and widget layout. Notepad holds several notes and takes Markdown, and calendar entries are created through Add Event with a title, start and end time, description and reminder.

Uninstalling the extension clears all of it, so make a backup first if you want to keep it.

Send me an email

Bug reports, feature ideas, or anything the questions above did not solve. Telling me which browser and version you are on, with a screenshot, gets to an answer much faster.
